Picture Flashcard Reader for Vocabulary Activities

How to play

Choose a picture card together and insert it into the reader as directed by the manufacturer. Look at the illustration, name the item, and talk about where you would find it. Try selecting a named picture from two choices or grouping cards by topic for a short shared learning activity.

Why I recommend this as an ABA therapist

I recommend picture cards as concrete visual materials for naming, receptive identification, and categorisation activities. I can begin with a small selection, ask the learner to find a named item, and adjust the choices to their goals. Choosing the next card also creates an opportunity to request a preferred item and share turns.

I adapt activities to the learner's communication style, interests, and abilities, keeping participation voluntary. The reader adds a hands-on card-insertion activity; I check the selected model's instructions and features before using it.
